It was okay. Alex is shit. She is a boring lead character. Gene was the highlight, of course. He is always great. But still it was just an okay episode. Alex and her finger quote thing got old real fast, but I did like Gene getting annoyed over it too. Chris and Ray were pretty good, too, but I just really don't like Alex at all. Going by this, it doesn't even begin to be as great as Life On Mars. Maybe it will get better, well it better or else it is going to be very boring. Also, that clown is creepy looking.

I liked it. Sure, Alex bugs me, but a little of it is because I'm all "I want Sam " and the most of it is because for the most part it seems like she's going to be doing what Sam did in the first few eps of LOM (which made me not like him much then too), which is the whole "you're not real" thing. Once she settles and I think she will, her interactions with Guv should be better though. And Guv is wonderful as always, especially how he grabbed her breasts. It is kind of odd seeing him in the 80s though, when the cops had to become more PC and he had to sit there and fill out paperwork and call people to ask for stuff. There's something strange about him too 'cause he looks kind of emo (he drinks wine and not hard liquor!) so I presume a swerve is coming, especially because Sam's body was never found and no one has mentioned Annie yet.

Could Sam and Annie be Alex's parents?

That said another strange thing I found was that while LOM was told entirely from the perspective of Sam and he was in all the scenes of the show, we've had a few scenes here where Alex wasn't in there at all. More swerves coming!

Finally, the boat and the uzis was great, the Quattro is wonderful and I love that creepy clown to death. This isn't as great as LOM, but its good nonetheless, the cinematography is still very nice and Guv is still Guv, so I will keep on watching forever because I expect good things to happen.

I liked the show, but until she starts acting like she's in the real world, Alex is REALLY going to piss me off. Gene and co. are still great (Chris and his nervousness/cautiousness makes me laugh, but the girl he's blatnatly going to be shagging soon is a 10 year old boy). I am also expecting massive swerves, because otherwise the not-all-from-Alex's-perspective stuff is going to be gay.

And the second episode is good. Alex grows on me. Stuff like "hello constructs of my imagination" is endearing whereas random quotation marks weren't. I have a feeling she'll be somewhat settled in by next week. That and she looks hotter. And Guv is awesome and in pure form, what with the really awesome lines, playing pool with that guy's nuts and the randomly groping the chick dancing in the conga line.

I also like how he chose not to hit the empty boxes with his car when he used to hit all sorts of shit with his car back in Manchester. Character development! >_>

Horrible, horrible.

Yeah this was a much better episode in my opinion. Good story this week with Alex coming in contact with her mother and her mother not liking her at all. Alex was indeed hotter here for whatever reason. Guv was awesome as usual. And Chris dressing up like a fag and getting made fun of not only by Ray but his girlfriend as well was goods tuff.

Awesome. Very fun episode. Guv was wonderful, Alex grows on me more and Ray is great too. Everything related to them thinking Alex was a whore was wonderful!

They really focused on Ray a lot in this episode and he was wonderful.

Fun episode. The conspiracy stuff is kind of fun, and I just loved Guv and Alex looked in that room. She seems to have settled down with the "you're all fake" stuff, which is good.

All in all more fun.

I actually believed they had killed Shazz! But I loved the return of the Manc Lion who just beat the shit out of people and planted evidence. I guess Sam didn't tame him too much after all. Also, next week's finale looks lovely.

Out-standing. Purely wonderful and awesome. I did not see that coming at all, in fact I thought it was gonna be someone else behind the car bombing but this was really great and I loved the way they revealed everything, it was beautifully done if not incredibly creepy. Seriously, that part near the end was creepy as shit

But yeah, all in all this was awesome, and really stands well apart from Life On Mars. It may not be as good, but Guv had another level to him and it was nicely done, and Alex quite grew on me. Oh and I will say this Ashes to Ashes S01 finale > Life On Mars S01 finale.

But how did Guv get there to be the one to hold the hand of Alex if he didn't even know about any of this?!

I thought it was going to be Evan as the guy who blew them up but it during out to be her father killing himself, her mother, and wanting to kill her as well, was crazyness! I liked how they faded into the clown just as he was going to blow himself up. Wonderful, wonderful.

Also, the stuff with Chris was fun.

Well in the "Previously on Ashes to Ashes" part of the episode they show the explosion, Evan running, and a hand grabbing Alex. You don't actually see who the hand belongs to.

Though if this was Guv's hand then it changes everything. Based on LOM we could see that Guv and co. were all illusions in the mind of Sam, whereas here if he was actually part of Alex's past, then he must be real

Wonderful ep . Though I was a tad befuddled by what took place at the end, who was the flower guy? He was there when Lady Di died!

Also Guv will beat this Mac bastard to death.

Second ep was a little odd at first up until Guv turned out to be a double agent! "Go on cowson!" wonderful! And the gippos were wonderful!

Third ep was good and Hunt in jail with the animal guy torturing him was nice.

Fourth ep was fun and BIH Mac, you bent basterd! But who is the man with roses?!

Poor Chris. They blackmailed him! Is not his fault!

Strange season. Sometimes, I had no clue what was going on . But I did like the ending, that's certainly a new twist. Apparently next season will be more Guv, less Bolly! It will answer all questions from LOM to now!

Weird ending, but I liked it. Should be an interesting season 3!

Season 3 starts in two weeks I believe. I'll try to watch these as they air instead of waiting a year.
